About Kelly and All these Kids

I'm Kelly.

Nice to meet you.
This is my blog.

I started it in the summer of 2014 as an excuse to write creatively again. Writing has always been a passion of mine and one that has been on the back burner since having kids. I would read other parenting blogs on Facebook and think, I could do that! So finally, one day I did.

I had to Google, How to start a blog, because honestly, I'm kind of clueless when it comes to technology. I'm not really sure when that happened, because I swear just yesterday I was in my 20s and checking out this new fangled thing called you tube and I was totally in the know.

Today I am 33. I have 3 kids and one on the way. I am a full time stay at home mom.

Before kids, I had a whole slew of different jobs. I worked for a runaway teen crisis hotline. I worked at a Subway, a call center, one of those cash loan places, as a waitress, retail stores and an apartment complex. I sucked at most of those jobs. Most recently before kids I worked for a credit union.

I went to college for awhile, but never finished my degree. I wanted a degree in English. So I could be a writer.

After kids, I worked part time for awhile, then had a in home daycare for awhile, now I am totally unemployed. For a couple of reasons, the main one being that we have 3 kids and I would not make enough money to cover day care costs. Also, being a mom is the first time I've ever been proud of my work. The first time I've ever felt like I'm doing a good job. I mean, there are days of course when I feel like I'm fucking everything up, but overall, I must being doing something right, because my kiddos are pretty awesome.

There is Gus, 8 years old. Gus is not his real name, it's what my coworker referred to my preggo belly when I was pregnant with him. I am not sure if there is a right or wrong answer when it comes to sharing about our kids. For me, I'm more comfortable giving them pseudo names and not posting pictures of their faces.

Anyhoo, Gus is my oldest, he looks exactly like his dad and his personality is exactly like me. When we argue, my husband shakes his head and says, "It's like listening to you argue with yourself!"

Next is Bun Bun the middle one. Bun Bun, 5 years old, is super proud of being the middle child. Actually there isn't really anything that can bring that kid down. I'm not sure where he gets this from, but he is an eternal optimist. I hope he always looks on the bright side his whole life!
He is obsessed with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. And lighnem mcqueem.

After having 2 boys, I was convinced my 3rd was also a boy. We found out at our ultrasound we were having a girl, but I didn't really believe it until I saw for certain once she was born. Lala is 3 years old. She has quite the attitude already. I wrote a letter to her for when she's older. Right now though, she's a toddler, with all the adorablness and exhaustingness that goes with toddlers!

It's so much fun coloring with toddlers
And of course there's my husband, Brad. Yes, he's basically one of the kids sometimes. Most of the time he is an awesome dad and husband. He is completely in charge of bath time, he changes diapers, works full time to support us and has lots of fatherly words of wisdom for the kids.

I love this man

  1. I have an English degree. I learned nothing there that really makes me any better writer than I would have otherwise been. You're fine!
